Jaybo is a private assistant operated by a single household for its own members. It is not a public service and is not offered to anyone outside that household.
With the account owner's authorization, Jaybo accesses Google Calendar data through the Google Calendar API. Specifically, it reads events on the calendars the authorizing account can access, and creates, modifies, or deletes events when a family member asks it to.
Jaybo does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, or any other Google service.
Calendar access exists for one purpose: so family members can ask about upcoming events and record new ones by sending a message, instead of opening a calendar application themselves.
Jaybo runs on self-hosted hardware owned by the household. Credentials are held by a credential gateway on that hardware and are never exposed to the assistant itself. Conversation history is kept locally only for as long as it is useful to the household, and can be deleted at any time by the operator.
The authorizing Google account can revoke Jaybo's access at any time at Google Account permissions. Access can also be withdrawn by removing the account's sharing permission on the calendar.
